You Can Stop Time

#squeezethemoment2

Have you ever wished for a magic button that would stop time or maybe even rewind it to a particular time in your life?  What would you say, if I told you stopping time is actually possible?!  Today, we are going to look at just that!

Stopping time is going to take commitment and a special practice.  Are you ready to embrace this life-defying secret?

Drum roll, please….

To stop time, YOU must STOP!  Pause.  Literally and figuratively.  That’s right.  There is no crazy universe stop button except that which exists in you.  In our fast-paced world, life goes a mile a minute, we have a million responsibilities, 10 different ways to be reached at all times, and are asked to continually add to our already full plate.  In a state of living so occupied by stuff and schedules full of just “doing,” you must make the physical space and head space to pause.

So, how do we do this?  Put the phone down, quiet your mind, and focus on just what is in front of you at this very moment.  I know it’s tough, especially the whole putting your phone away but you will be shocked at just how much that little device dictates your stress levels, emotions, and distracts you from what actually matters.  I bet you will find it difficult to not look at your phone for 7 mins!  I’m not kidding, it’s HARD.  Try it!

Where is your phone when you are on a date?  How about when you are playing with the kids or hanging with some friends?  If you are like me, it is within hands reach and interrupts your conversation multiple times in every interaction.  This is just the life we live.  I know you can’t just turn it off and walk away as much as you may like with the demands of work, family needs, and the like.  However, in order to get the most out of life and truly experience deeper, fuller relationships, you must turn it on silent or put it on the charger, when you are with those who are most important to you.

Life is too short to be lived riding in the backseat of our technology’s whims, so let’s take the driver seat and enjoy those we are with right now.

If you don’t take the time to pause the constant chatter of all that comes with your phone, you will find yourself stressing out on your loved ones because you got a text, call, or email (or perhaps, even saw something on social media) that steals your moment and wraps you up in stress, anxiety and ill-emotions. Life is too short to be lived riding in the backseat of our technology’s whims, so let’s take the driver seat and enjoy those we are with right now. When you do this, you won’t need to worry about rewinding time because you will have squeezed the most out of it when you had it the first time! Let’s go!
